Makeup for the Lazy Pt.1 | Look "Alive" in 5 Minutes!

Let's be real. The average person does not have an hour to put on a full face of makeup every morning. Even 'yours truly' only gets dolled up on the weekends and for special occasions. With that being said, I do still want to look a little more put together instead of my "I woke up like this" face! Over the past few years, I have found that 5 simple steps really will make anybody look more awake!

Step 1: Skin Prep

Start with a clean exfoliated face. You will automatically look fresh and awake with clear clean skin. Don't forget to moisturize after!

Step 2: Brows

Filling in your brows, or even just adding a clear brow gel to them will instantly give you a face lift! Remember, your brows are the frame to your face, so make sure they are well groomed. You can use a powder or pencil for a softer look, or a brow pomade for a bolder look depending on your taste. (I find using a pencil is the quickest if you're pressed for time.)

Step 3: Even Skin tone

Take a light coverage foundation, or tinted moisturizer/BB cream of your choice and add a light layer over your skin. (Pro tip: Use a damp sponge for a more natural radiant look.)

Step 4: Conceal + Highlight

Next step is to conceal and highlight your face. Depending on your skin, you will need one to two different color concealers. One color that matches your skin tone, and another that is 2-3 shades lighter than your skin tone.

Take the color that matches your face and cover any blemishes you may have. Your finger is the best tool for this.

With the lighter concealer, start with a small amount and place this under your eyes to cover any dark circles, also place this above your upper lip, the center of your forehead, and chin (apply more as needed). Doing this will automatically lift and brighten your face.

Step 5: Glow Baby!!

This step is totally optional, but it looks so pretty! Using a small tapered brush, take your favorite highlighter and sweep on the tops of your cheekbones, your brow bone, above the arch of your brow, your cupid's bow, and chin. This will give you that "glow from within" that everyone talks about.

After following these steps, put on your favorite lip gloss or chap stick, and for an extra touch, add a mascara if needed!

A full video tutorial will be on the homepage so you can follow along with me as I demonstrate these steps!
