I love fashion, but I don't consider myself as a fashionista, more of a wear what looks good on me type of person. A very good friend of mine in New York introduced me to this brand. While we were walking in NOLITA, she mentioned about her favorite shoe store nearby, so we went.
Trippen is a brand from Germany, started in the early 1990's, the designers, Angela Spieth & Michael Oehler inspired by the 70's style wooden sole and by the essence of their home city, independent and unconventional.
All their shoes and rain proof, environmentally & socially conscious. When you buy a pair, rest assured they are not made in China, every single pair are made in their very own factory, 60 km north of Berlin.
The first time I laid my eyes on them, I automatically thought of the Japanese wooden slippers, they have collaborated with well known designer Issey Miyake and many other international designers. Their shoes are definitely a conversation starter as you will find no other shoes in the world with similar designs. With Architectural and artistic silhouettes, definitely worth an investment for a pair of these beauty.
If you are in NOLITA, NY, drop by their store and try a pair, feel how comfortable they are.
